Zero APR Credit Card

"Zero Interest Credit Cards.  What's The Deal?..."

People used to think that credit card companies just couldn't come up with any more enticing offers.

..........Then, up jumps the 0 APR credit card!

Here's the big question.  Is it true?  Can credit card companies can actually offer a 0% APR?

As a matter of fact it is indeed, possible. In fact, many credit card companies will definitely go for this kind of offer just to get the consumers on their hook.

Too good to be true?  Just how can they offer something where they don't seem to be able to make a fat profit?

Here's the deal.  Normally, a zero annual percentage rate or APR lasts for the first six months that you have the card. The countdown starts from the day the credit card is issued.

Generally the zero interest rate is very attractive to people who will want to have a balance transfer. This is because they want to consolidate all of their debts into one payment only. So, because they have a huge pile of debt, they not only consolidate their debts, but they free themselves from the added interest fees.  Well, they are interest free for six months.  What happens after that could be a real shock.

Even so, with the 6-month time frame, people can still save a bag full of money.  If they have tight finances that six months of no interest can be a life saver.

Zero APR credit cards are not beneficial to everyone. For those who pay off their credit card balance every month an interest free card has no attraction.  They wouldn't feel the necessity of getting an interest free period.

The best credit cards for these who always pay off the balance is a card that offers rewards and cash backs instead of lower rates or zero rates.

So let's sum up.  With every credit card offer it is important to read everything that comes with the card offer.  Even the tiny print!  Once you sign and agree to abide by the rules of the credit card company they are in the driver's seat.

Indeed, there are lots of rewards with some cards and 0% APR credit cards available. But be careful.  It's easy to over spend when you think you won't have to pay interest, or that you will get a reward of some kind.  Yipes!  That's just the kind of thinking that gets thousands of people into real financial trouble.

Debt of all kinds is serious business.  Don't be fooled into thinking you can get the edge on the banks and financing companies.  They always win, just like the Las Vegas casinos.  Be smart and don't let them lure you into the game.

Some think that credit scores are a joke.  Maybe, but the banks always have the last laugh!
